What in the World?
The Pinnacle of Technology (part 1)
The building block for End Times
In some respects, the Bible is limited in what it describes. On the other hand, what the Bible describes provides a clear window into what the world will be like at the end of the age we live, even as it is transpiring. As any construction project takes shape, less and less information is necessary to understand the goal and end product of that project. As we previously stated in our metaphor about a ship or a house during construction, as the structure progresses, the purpose for the construction becomes obvious to any observer. The same is true concerning the End Times. Moreover, when the Bible describes the world's conditions during the end times, it places the most prominent features at center stage ‒ the more minor details are not included. The same way that details of doorframes and dimensions of interior rooms are not necessary to recognize the construction of a house. So too, many lessor details are not necessary to understand the end times scenario that are clearly recognizable.
Furthermore, it is imperative to recognize that technology and its underlying high-tech infrastructure is a primary key to understanding what is taking place in our world. It is technology that allows for the rise of the Antichrist and his global governance. It is technology that allows for world-wide control of people and nations. It is technology that allows for implementation of the Mark of the Beast ‒ an event the Bible unequivocally states will be implemented during the final three and a half years of human history.
Allow me one final quotation that characterizes these incredible technological advancements that will be the foundation for the final global government system before this age is closed. From our vantage point now, it certainly appears that a global governing system is being implemented ‒ at a rapid pace. This is possible only with advancing technology that is quickly changing our world. Josephine Wolff of Tufts University eloquently articulates the impact of technological advancement on the global stage and writes (italics added),
Advances in areas as diverse as artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, nanotechnology, biotechnologies, genetic engineering, and renewable energy are transforming societies and economies profoundly, altering the nature of work, transportation, medicine, education, communication, crime, public safety, and policy-making…Both because of how technically complicated these advances are, and how rapidly they are changing, many of these technologies as well as their impacts on individual societies and the global order at large remain ill understood amidst ongoing policy debates about their assumed benefits and risks as well as unintended consequences. Wolfe's comments portray how technology (knowledge) is currently restructuring our world. Before such knowledge and technology existed, Daniel foretold it would occur and that its development would be during the end. The Book of Revelation, on the other hand, expresses what that technology will be used to accomplish and how it will allow for the pinnacle technological event when the final end time structure is put into place.
The coming global governance
Global governance during the end of the age is clearly indicted in the Bible. Revelation attests to this, Daniel is clear on the matter, and numerous Old Testament writers point to this fact. Taken together, the Bible provides a unified chorus of testimony about an overarching global situation existing at the end of the age.
Before we proceed, I feel I must apologize for my brevity. To be frank, I feel almost remiss in discussing such an important and grave matter in such a transitory fashion ‒ nevertheless, the purpose here is to communicate in the most simplistic terms possible, not to treat the subject comprehensively. I will provide other sources for further information later.
Daniel provides some of the most comprehensive information about the coming final global empire, its duration, and its leader. That information can be found in Daniel chapter 7. One excerpt from the chapter reads (italics added):
As for the fourth beast, there shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be different from all the kingdoms, and it shall devour the whole earth, and trample it down, and break it to pieces. As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom ten kings shall arise, and another shall arise after them; he shall be different from the former ones, and shall put down three kings. He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High, and shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand for a time, times, and half a time (Daniel 7:23-25 ESV).
Daniel tells us a fourth global empire will arise (in the last days), different from all other kingdoms, and will trample and consume the other nations because of his power. His kingdom will reach its zenith for a period of three and a half years. This statement and others are restated and expanded significantly in Revelation, and numerous other locations in the Bible. For example, Revelation chapter 13, written some 600 years later, builds upon Daniel's prophecy, and says (emphasis added),
And I saw a beast rising out of the sea, with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns and blasphemous names on its heads. And the beast that I saw was like a leopard; its feet were like a bear, and its mouth was like a lion's mouth. And to it the dragon [Satan] gave his power and his throne and great authority. One of its heads seemed to have a mortal wound, but its mortal wound was healed, and the whole earth marveled as they followed the beast. And they worshiped the dragon, for he had given his authority to the beast, and they worshiped the beast, saying, "Who is like the beast, and who can fight against it?" And the beast was given a mouth uttering haughty and blasphemous words, and it was allowed to exercise authority for forty-two months [three and a half years]. It opened its mouth to utter blasphemies against God, blaspheming his name and his dwelling, that is, those who dwell in heaven. Also, it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and nation, and all who dwell on earth will worship it, everyone whose name has not been written before the foundation of the world in the book of life of the Lamb who was slain (Revelation 13:1-8 ESV).
This kingdom and government controlling all other nations is that of the infamous Antichrist.
The reputation of this man, even before his arrival upon the world's scene, is recognized throughout the world by both believers and unbelievers. This is due solely to the revelatory nature of the Scriptures and its announcement of the Antichrist's predicted coming. God chose to explain these matters to all humanity because of his enormous grace (unmerited favor), his power to know these things, and his desire to warn all people. There seems to be little doubt that the preparation for the Antichrist's arrival is well underway. I wrote at some length in the Great Reset that...
…from all appearances, what is transpiring across the world is a unified effort to consolidate the entire global infrastructure under the auspices of a single and overarching governing body. There are many, many people writing and explaining what is transpiring under this effort, both Christian and non-Christian, secularists and believers.
Closing this sectionI will close this section with two quotes ‒ both concisely point to what is taking place.
Klaus Schwab, the unelected leader of the World Economic Forum, is quoted as saying (italics added), "The problem that we have is not globalization. The problem is a lack of global governance, a lack of means to address global issues." Schwab appears to be saying that the world is already tied together in an unprecedented fashion through technology and the existing technological infrastructure ‒ therefore, globalization actually already exists. What Schwab claims is missing is a global governmental authority necessary to enforce the laws and regulations and ideological direction the WEF and the United Nations considers necessary to reach global goals and agenda. Klaus Schwab is correct in his assessment.
Christina Garsten and Adriene Sorbom well elaborate on Klaus Schwab's statement, and write,
The contemporary world is characterized by unprecedented globalization. Various parts of the world are now interconnected by way of increased trade and economic activity, faster and thicker communication networks, and intensified points of engagement and tension among cultural groups. Even if globalization occurred long before the term was coined, we are now living in a world where the infrastructure of nation-states and international connections are giving way to a novel geopolitical structure characterized by global and transnational connectivity. Since the end of the Cold War, the driving forces of societal change, of economic, political, and cultural dynamics, have been transnational rather than international. In some instances, we are even experiencing the implications of supranational driving forces, challenging the nation-state as a template for societal coordination and order" (Discreet Power: How the World Economic Forum Shapes Market Agendas, Introduction).
Mark Hitchcock and Jeff Kinley write their opinion of this push towards a global governmental authority necessary to enforce these goals and objectives, and write,
What is significant, however, about this coming one-world government is that current global conditions appear to be harbingers for its (perhaps) soon appearance...the spirit of their agenda undoubtedly dovetails rather seamlessly with the future empire predicted in Scripture…The prophesies made by Daniel and John [Revelation] appear to be coming together at an accelerated rate, faster than at any time in modern memory. In short, never has the idea of a one-world government been as palatable to the international community as it is right now" (Global Reset, p. 18).
Will global governance take hold in the world? Yes, it will. And will it be in the near or not-too-distant-future? Yes, it will. There exists two critical factors or players pushing towards completion: a group of global leaders committed to its implementation and the technological advancements that are seemingly in place and advancing at an unprecedented pace. Both of these two necessities are laying the foundation for global governance.
Here is just one of the many discussions that explains how global governance is being implemented.
Continue with me as we discuss what will occur once global governance has taken hold of the world's population.
